Psalm 114: Tremble at the presence of the Lord!

Psalm 114

New International Version (NIV)
1 When Israel came out of Egypt,
Jacob from a people of foreign tongue,
2 Judah became God’s sanctuary,
Israel his dominion. 3 The sea looked and fled,
   the Jordan turned back;
4 the mountains leaped like rams,
   the hills like lambs.
5 Why was it, sea, that you fled?
Why, Jordan, did you turn back?
6 Why, mountains, did you leap like rams,
   you hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turned the rock into a pool,
the hard rock into springs of water.

Daniel's Thoughts:

Gods very presence was with Israel as they came out of Egypt in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night to guide them. God was present in the ark of the covenant and in the temple.

But now the very presence of God is everywhere and in our hearts. The veil has been torn because of the death of Jesus! We can be with God and worship him anywhere!

John 4

19 “Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. 20 Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.”
21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Daniel's Prayer:

Let the whole earth tremble at the presence of the Lord!
And Praise God that he is present with us everywhere and we can worship him everywhere in Spirit and in truth!

Amen
